Athens-Kalamaki Marina is the marina to start your sailboat trip if you would like to see the beautiful islands of the Saronic Gulf -Aegina, Poros, Angistri, Hydra, Dokos and Spetses and of course there is the whole of the Eastern Peloponnese and the Argolic Gulf, as far south as you wish to travel, this is a great location if you do not want to sail large distances during the day and if you want some what calmer seas than in the Cyclades.
In the summer the wind is generally from the north and on a windy "Meltemi" day you can expect winds of about 4-5 bft, you can also expect south to south easterly 2-3 the rest of the time.
The islands of the Saronic and Argolic Gulf as well as the Peloponnese coasts offer many small ports, anchorages and bays accessible only by sea and a boat.
